Who is Lafontaine? Of course, the French fabulist Jean de La Fontaine. All over the world, just not in Luxembourg. There La Fontaine is the poet, classic of Luxembourg literature Edmond de la Fontaine (1823-1891).
However in Luxembourg he is more often referred to by his short nickname Dix.
Dix became famous as a playwright. His plays were the first dramatic works written and
performed in Luxembourgish. He also wrote prose and poetry about
Luxembourg and Luxembourgers.
During the lesson, our children performed a small performance based on Dix’s fairy tale “The Wolf and the Fox.”
