At the origins of the "Schueberfouer"

The first school day in Kalinka.

It's time to meet the classmates and talk about how you spent your summer holidays.

As the part of the project "Once upon a time there was Luxembourg", we were recalling the famous oldest fair in Europe - Schueberfouer.

The children learned that in the middle of the 14th century, by order of Count Jan the Blind, a tradition was given to hold an annual fair.

And traditions in Luxembourg are honored.

For example, every year the Sheep March opens the fair.

Musicians, dressed in blue suits to resemble 19th-century farmers, follow a shepherd and a small flock of sheep and play an old folk tune.
